Memory
Forgiving does not erase the bitter past.... a healed memory is not a deleted memory.... Instead, forgiving what we cannot forget creates a new way to remember.... we change the memory of our past into a hope for our future
That's a very positive perspective, Sandy! One need not forget nor forgive, but should ensure that it does not affect our present, it should not corrode our self.
One cannot change the memory of the past. That would be to fool oneself.
anilkurup, I see where you are coming from with your thoughts and totally agree that one should remember anything that has incurred negative connotations for us or others......for sure:-)
And yes Balachandran, we must not let it corrode us..Which many have done and I am so guilty of this myself. There are things that do not leave the memory.. Maybe never and usually they are in the past.
Sandy, these are wise words indeed. You have such a deep mind with great insight in finding grace in situations many would allow to fester for ever. We can change our perspective to allow healing to take place and move on.

I agree with your contentions, but forgetting is unwise at times because history may repeat.
Don't you think so?
